About the Teachers

Our academy is led by a team of accomplished, fully accredited Highland dance teachers whose own competitive journeys now fuel their passion for the next generation of dancers.

Our Owner & Director

Our founder and director began dancing at the age of five, with early formal training in ballet and tap before discovering Scottish Highland dance as a child. She went on to compete throughout the East Coast, earning awards and recognition as a champion dancer. Today she is accredited by the British Association of Teachers of Dance in both Scottish Highland and Scottish National dance, and she has been honored for her long-standing dedication to Highland dance as both a teacher and an organizer.

Beyond the studio, our director is deeply involved in organizing and planning Highland dance events across Virginia and the wider region. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Business, and she brings that blend of athletic understanding and organizational rigor to every class she leads.

Our Operating Manager

Our operating manager was a competitive Premier-level dancer across the East Coast and Southern regions. She began her love of Highland dancing as a child and has shared that joy with friends and family ever since. She has been an accredited Scottish Highland dance teacher with the British Association of Teachers of Dance for well over fifteen years.

She is also a dedicated special-education teacher with a decade of classroom experience and a Master of Education degree, alongside an undergraduate background in international studies and studio art. That teaching expertise shows in her patient, individualized approach — she has a gift for meeting each dancer exactly where they are.

Our Seasonal Instructors

During the summer and on college breaks, our program is joined by several younger instructors who came up through our own ranks. These accomplished Premier-level dancers have completed teaching certification with the recognized Scottish governing board and are eager to share their love of Scottish Highland dance with students. Having recently been competitors themselves, they bring fresh energy and a relatable perspective that younger dancers especially appreciate.

Working Together

What unites our instructors is a shared belief that great teaching is personal. They work tirelessly to manage a program in which no dancer is overlooked, classes adapt to the people in the room, and every student — from the most tentative beginner to the seasoned competitor — receives genuine attention. Accreditation through bodies like the British Association of Teachers of Dance ensures our teaching meets recognized international standards.
