Bridget Glasheen Boswell is the owner/director and began dancing at age of 5 with formal training in Ballet and Tap in New England. She added Highland studies in North Carolina at age 8. She competed throughout the east coast, winning awards and recognition as a Champion dancer. Bridget is accredited by The British Association of Teacher of Dance in both Scottish Highland and Scottish National dance. Bridget was honored with a Life Member Award by the British Association of Dance in 2015 for her dedication and commitment to Highland dance as at a teacher and organizer. Bridget is currently involved with organizing and planning many dance events in Virginia and co-organizes others in North Carolina. Bridget has a Bachelors of Science in Health Science and Business.
Sarah Gordon is the operating manager and was a competitive Premier level dancer in the East Coast and Southern regions. She began her love of Highland Dancing in Richmond, VA at age 10, and would share her dance talent with friends and family as often as possible. Sarah has been accredited as a Scottish Highland dance teacher with the British Association of Teachers of Dance for over 15 years. Additionally, she is a special education teacher with 10 years of classroom experience and a Masters degree in Education from the University of Mary Washington. Sarah attended the University of Richmond as an undergraduate student, majoring in International Studies and Studio Art.
Evy has been a competitive Premier dancer and years preparing for and successfully completing her Members teachers level certification with Scotland. She is ready to share her love of Scottish Highland Dance with students during her summer break from the honors college at Virginia Tech.
Evy has been a competitive Premier dancer and started with us as a primary dancer. Her family is very engaged in everything Scottish, everyone from her little sister, a dancers, cousins, aunts, grandparents, etc. She prepared for and successfully completed her Associates teachers level certification with Scotland this year. She is ready to share her love of Scottish Highland Dance with students during her breaks from the honors college at Christopher Newport College.
Bridget and Sarah work tirelessly to manage the program at Thistle and Shamrock and guide students to reach their fullest potential. They attend workshops and collaborate with other teachers several times a year to continuously enhance their knowledge and skills working with students.
Bridget holds Members Accreditation in both the Highland and Scottish National Branch of the British Association of Teachers of Dance.
Sarah holds a Members Accreditation in the Highland Branch of the British Association of Teachers of Dance.
Evelyn holds an Associates Accreditation in the Highland Branch of the British Association of Teachers of Dance.
